To Do Today: L.A. Times Fest of Books, Brokechella, Record Store Day & more

Brokechella takes place in downtown’s Six01 Studios from 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Looking for something to do today? Check out these events for Saturday, April 20:

  • Brokechella – Six01 Studios, 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., $10. Too broke for Coachella? Come to Los Angeles’ own festival and see some of the best local bands, eat great food, and have a grand old time in downtown (sans the 3-hour drive and 100-degree heat).
  • L.A. Times Festival of Books – USC Campus, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. FREE. Catch your favorite authors, listen to live music, enjoy L.A.’s culture, and of course, buy great books at the Los Angeles Times’ 18th book festival.
  • Record Store Day – All day. Support your local record store! Origami Vinyl, VACATION, and Amoeba are just a few stores participating in today’s celebration of music.
  • Earth Day Latino – LA Historic Park, FREE. Attend wildlife presentations, join in on geo-caching activities, check out indigenous land ceremonies and drum circles, and more.
